Molokai - The Friendly Isle

All of Molokai is rich with Hawaiian lore. It has
miles of secluded white beaches and the highest sea cliffs in the world
with waterfalls cascading thousands of feet.
Many remnants of early Hawaiian culture can be seen
in Kawela and Kaunakakai and in the Halawa Valley. It was here that King
Kamehameha the Great camped for a year, planning his conquest of Oahu.
Visit Molokai's towering sea cliffs which rise along
the northern shore and the settlement on the Kalaupapa Peninsula where
Father Damien served sufferers of Hansen's disease (leprosy) until he
succumbed to it himself in 1889.
"The Friendly Isle" is also known as the birthplace
of the hula. There are very few hotels on this island, making it perfect
for people who want to escape the crowds.
